This lady of the house had severe osteporosis and her biggest concern was being able to safely enter and exit the shower. So instead of installing the 18" grab bar at the entrance of the shower stall vertical, as we usually do, we installed it horizontally so that she could keep holding on to it with both hands after she stepped into the shower and then being able to rotate and transition over to the other 24" inch safety bar on the facing wall. This small modication worked really well for her. The grab bar installed on the facing wall of the tile shower is position at a slight angle so that it will be easier on her shoulder when sits down and sits up from her shower chair.
